Girls have been funded by MMF here at Bandawe Girls’ Secondary School since it was founded and it is a special place for us. Bandawe was where Jack and Mamie Martin lived and worked for many years. Mamie is buried a short distance from this school. This school is owned and run by the Education Department of the Synod of Livingstonia of the CCAP and is grant-aided by the Malawian Government.
There are 537 girls at this boarding school. There are two streams per Form – 4 Forms. This ratio means that the classes are congested and the school is trying to improve the situation.
Mamie Martin Fund support includes the girls’ registration at the new local health clinic.
