Last year the mother and son team, Mamie Martin Fund, walked ‘The mighty Stride, 16.5 miles, from Glasgow to Dumbarton. All donations were topped up by 50% from the Tom Hunter Foundation. This top-up will happen again this year so the Kiltwalk is a really important fundraising opportunity for us.

Mariot’s report from Pit Stop 2. She and Tom raised £1,576.14 which was topped up by the Tom Hunter Foundation and became £3,134.28 in the MMF coffers – enough to fund the fees of 10 girls at boarding school in Malawi. Wow!

On the weekend of 23- 25 April 2021, Michelle got her tartan on for the virtual Kiltwalk and walked 26.3 miles to raise funds for girls’ education in Malawi. All donations to her page were topped up by 50% thanks to The Hunter Foundation and she raised a whopping £812.00 which became £1,218.00 with the top-up. What is not to love? Well, yes, the sore feet.

Michelle raised enough money to support a Malawian girl at boarding school for all four years of her secondary education – well done Michelle and huge thanks!
