To Mercy this must have felt like a non-stop tour of Central Scotland and the North of England! It was so exciting to be able to introduce her to so many people, and we know how much you, our supporters, enjoyed meeting her. Thank you for making her so welcome!
One of the highlights was our birthday celebration coffee morning, kindly hosted by Dalgety Parish Church. We welcomed friends from near and far, from England and Malawi.
Mercy also travelled to Lancashire to meet our new partners there, as well as speaking at the Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group at Holyrood. She also met Dr Alasdair Allan MSP who is kindly donating 50% of his royalties to us from his book, “Tweed rins tae the Ocean”.
A group of young people, Malawi supporters, at Beath High School, Fife, welcomed her to a meeting with them and she attended events at the One World Shop and the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens.
We took the opportunity to provide some training while she was here but also some much needed relaxation, including entertainment at the Usher Hall and Festival Theatre. A very busy but satisfying and successful visit!
