AGM 2024 – Trustee nominations

The people below have kindly volunteered to join our Board. Their nominations have been accepted by the Board and so they are up for election at the AGM

Francesca Munoz

I am a recent graduate student from the University of Glasgow in Business Management and Sociology, a public speaker, activist and social entrepreneur. However, my journey in social causes started even before I was born. I was raised from an immigrant family in the United States that left all behind for better opportunities. As soon as I was able to walk and talk I began helping out at work and home, and was always encouraged by my parents to aspire for a different future.

When we lived in Peru and Panama I became even more aware of all the issues we face in our regions and it soon became my biggest interest and passionI started volunteering from a young age but my first big projects didn’t start until I was 14 years old. I quickly became invested in different organizations; I created clubs at school, led fundraising events, and even created my own NGO in 2017, “Power 4 Girls”. Following that, I have been founder and board member of various organizations across the world including; “Juventud Interactiva”, “Redefy”, “Amando mis Raices” , “FRESH”, “Innovative Young Politicians”, “My World”, and “Red Interamericana de Jovenes”. Finding my way to the United Kingdom opened up even more opportunities, being able to become a speaker at COP26 and at the UN Day panel by CIFAL York, as well as lead a team of students to Everest Base Camp fundraising for “WWF UK” and founding a society that supports various charities per year.

All of these small steps on my career have given me the motivation and determination to pursue this dream to support causes and organizations that make this world a better place. Hopefully, something I would be able to continue with the Mamie Martin Fund.

Matthew Davidson

I am an experienced international human rights programme manager, supporting and leading on a range of different human rights and worker welfare projects across Asia. My specialisms on child rights and gender equity have allowed me to develop strategies to prevent risks of child labour, support educational accessibility, and address the barriers faced by women and girls due to social norms and societal structures that perpetuate inequality. Coming from the corporate world, I also have experience of varying funding approaches, partnership management, and project management systems, including use of Microsoft suite.

I hold a BA (honours) in Social Sciences and a MSc in International Conflict and Cooperation, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Development from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. My passion is to support vulnerable individuals in accessing their basic human rights, advocating for localisation in development programming, and building processes and systems to allow for sustainable growth. I hope that my experience, and passion, can support Mamie Martin Fund in continuing and advancing the amazing work already being done.
